It all began over 3 decades ago. 

At a very young age, Eliana would get lost for hours creating, drawing, painting, playing the piano, dreaming. It was her high-school art teacher, Richard (Dick) Ressel, who trained her to be a multidisciplinary artist which included introducing her to wheel throwing. She became obsessed quickly, honing her skills to perfect forms and to push the medium into art that won her the most silver keys in the national scholastic awards collected that year by any high-schooler. When it came to choose a college, she was given no choice, thanks to him, but to apply to Alfred University. During college Eliana was even further introduced to or challenged by multiple mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, woodworking, metalsmithing, ceramics, and ultimately the medium she fell most in love with, glassblowing. She went on to win the faculty’s award for best show her senior year for her body of work that pushed the elements of glass by introducing her love and knowledge for the material arts she embodied in the ceramics process. She created a unique scavo (“excavation”) surface treatment for her glasswork that manipulated the texture to resemble cracked clay, or tree bark confusing the boundaries of glass and clay.

After college, Eliana began exhibiting her work which included private collections part of the Smithonian Tours. In 2003, Eliana opened her first gallery in Lancaster, PA where she exhibited artists from around the world creating a cultural hotspot in downtown where First Friday’s drew crowds of over 2,500 on a monthly basis. She continued to exhibit her work across the U.S. through the late 2000’s before entering graduate school to earn an MBA in Finance with a focus on Entrepreneurship.

Since then, while she has worked in finance, she has kept herself active in both glass and ceramics having come back to it full time in late 2025.
